The Motel Capri is the best value in town. You park your car right there for free. Close to everything in the Marina District. We loved it and will stay there the next time we visit San Francisco.
Very convenient location, near shopping, restaurants, parks (Presidio and Crissy Field), and public transportation, yet a block off main thoroughfare (Lombard), so not too loud.
Large room with a full kitchen attached which is unheard of at the price I got. Friendly staff and pretty clean. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and soo soft. Location is awesome and very close to many cool places. We partied hard on Union street :) Thanks for an awesome stay ill never forget it !
There were a couple of stains on the bed....small ones but still a little gross :/
I liked the provision of a gathering room for my tai chi group. I liked the resonsiveness of the front desk personnel. I found the room comfortable and well taken care of. I liked the lcation.
.Nice comfortable room good value.
The motel is not on Lombard street and advertises itself as being quiet, It is quiet except for fire engines running down the street from the nearby station. I did not hear the sirens at night so they may not use them at night, they are at worst a minor annoyance. Despite the sirens I would stay there again.
Location and price.
The Motel is very dated and in need of updating. The decor and general appearance are shabby.First impressions were not good. However after travelling for 18 hours a shower and clean bed were okay by me.
Comfy beds and blankets, great walking location to public transport and sites, clean baths
Dirty carpet, thin doors
This was an obnoxious and dirty hotel. The smell of curry hit you as soon as you hit the front desk. There was no American motel ambiance as described by hotel. We had requested two beds side by side but they did not accomodate us. Instead we were put in a so called family suite which was dirty from ceiling to carpet. The facilities were absolutely atrocious. The lifts stopped working halfway and we were stuck inside without lights which was terrifying. Thenighbourhood is quite scary at night and has nothing to do with the so called perfect location. They did not give us an option to cancel at any point once the boking was made so we were completely duped into staying at this hotel for 1 night and then having to find and pay for additional accomodation for the other 3 nights in San Francisco. this hotel is a health and safety hazard and as such shout me reported to the authorities. \we have never been cheated this way by an obnoxious manager and their no refund policy once booked is testament to the theiving attitude of the management of this hotel. Booking .com should never have given them 2 stars or even have them on their web site. We intend to pursue the matter with the concerned authorities. Roopa Girard
please refer to my comments on this hotel in the like sectionbecause I absolutely hate it and would not recommend it to anybody
The fact they had on-site parking was the main reason we selected them. Most others either had no parking, parking for half the rooms (first come first serve) or off-site parking. The rooms were clean and you got what you paid for in quality. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a budget motel with parking.
I loved the location.
1. we booked the hotel because of the location, a bathtub, fridge, and microwave. 2. upon arrival, we were given a room with no bathtub, no fridge, and no microwave. 3. the clerk accomidated us as well as he could by moving us to a room with a bathtub and brought as a fridge. we were told we would have to come to the office where they could heat things for us. 4. on day 2 i discovered 3 bedbugs. on day 4, 1 more hopped on my husband 5. on 2 of our evenings, there was a motor running under our window until 8:30 or 9pm with the sound of loud workman yelling to one another and all the matresses out on the balcony while they used some kind of big vaccume sounding thing. we decided not to stay the extra days we were considering and will not ever return
Close to piers
No tub in bathroom. Poor sound insulation, can hear outside noises clearly at night. Breakfast is served very late and just for a very short time.
This is a very dated Motel in need of repair and modernisation (there were one or two rooms already started being repaired) we was next door to one of them. Ironing boards were available but no iron. I also had to go out and buy and hairdryer. I could have loaned one but the guy at reception could.not find it. Breakfast was just a coffee and a pastry but that was ok. It was a bit costly for the facilities we paid for.
Location, location, location. Very good price for (usually) quiet, clean rooms with fridge & microwave, close to Union Street, Filmore, & Marina. Public transport conveniently located.with access to South Beach, China Town, Union Square, Opera precinct, as well as easy connections to Haight, Golden Gate Park & museum precinct.
I have stayed at the Capri many times before & it is usually very quiet but some weekend guests can be very loud & drunk.
The location is perfect for San Francisco. And free car parking. Excellent access to public transportation. Quieter side street rather than noise from a main street.
Furnishings and decor are very basic. Fresh paint would be a nice touch.
